Sometimes it is hard to talk to family and friends about our difficulties. Sometimes family and friends might even seem to be part of our troubles or we simply have an uneasy feeling that something is not quite right in life, but cannot pinpoint what.
Counselling can help, although there are no guaranteed ‘fixes’. Any crisis can bring us to a crossroads and although I will not tell you what to do, together we can review what is happening and hopefully help you find your own way.
Counselling as I practice it means that we meet once a week for 50 minutes in a safe, respectful, confidential and quiet place where you can talk about whatever is on your mind. We might explore a specific problem over 6-12 sessions or the longer term past patterns that are still tying you down. Together in our initial meeting we can agree which approach best suits your needs. I am committed to regularly reviewing our arrangements to ensure they are right for you.
I was awarded the Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy following a five year part-time course. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and follow their Code of Ethics, which includes a requirement to work professionally under supervision and to undertake continual and ongoing skills development. I have a current CRB check and full insurance. I am based in Hertfordshire. My fee is £30 per session.
