Throughout our lives, there are certain times when we may need help addressing problems and issues that cause us emotional distress or make us feel overwhelmed.

Speaking to a therapist can offer help in addressing situations that cause emotional stress, including, but not limited to:

  • anxiety, depression, and other mental/emotional problems
  • family and relationship issues
  • sexual abuse and domestic violence
  • career change and job stress
  • social and emotional difficulties related to low self esteem
  • adopting to life transitions such as marriage, parenthood or ageing
  • the death of a loved one

I believe in the creation of a safe, holding and respectful therapeutic relationship that fosters healing and growth. As an integrative therapist I am trained to use a range of counselling approaches to help clients, depending on the presenting issue. This may include, with your agreement, meditation, visualisation, art work or working with your dreams.

I currently work as a Psychotherapist for the NHS in a mental health hospital. My areas of experience within this setting include depression, anxiety, bereavement, emotional, physical and sexual abuse. I also work with clients with bi-polar and other personality disorders.

I also have extensive experience of working with young mothers and women in crisis.

I belong to the BACP and am bound by their Code of Ethics.

I offer short term (6-12 sessions) counselling and longer term therapy in Leigh on Sea, and London City. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly.
